Chhukha Tshechu was instituted in 1988 and performed annually at Chhukha Ngedrup Tse Dzong as an offering to Guru Rinpoche. This three-day festival comprises of different mask dances as well as regional folk songs and dances and the highlight of the festival is unfurling of Thongdroel (large tapestry) of Guru Rinpoche. Devotees congregate in large number at the courtyard of newly built Dzong to witness religious performances and attain merit.
