Haa Tshechu - Popular Festivals in Bhutan

 

The Haa Tshechu was introduced in 1990 and performed at Lhakhang Karpo on 8th – 10th day of the 8th Bhutanese month. This annual festival is held in honour of Guru Rinpoche and is the biggest festival in Haa district and attracts people from all over western Bhutan. During the festival various mask dances and regional folk dances showcased for the general public. The festival concludes with unfurling of the Guru Thongdroel (large tapestry) on the last day.
