Set along the Mangdechhu in Berti, Zhemgang, Berti Eco Lodge is a community-run retreat where conservation and hospitality meet in one of Bhutan’s most biodiverse landscapes. Created as an alternative livelihood for the local community and a model for ecotourism, the lodge is closely tied to the protection of the critically endangered White-bellied Heron, a species that has become both a symbol of the area and a reason for its careful stewardship. The Cabins
