Located below the famous Jakar Dzong with a commanding view of Choekor valley of Bumthang, Jakar Village Lodge (JVL) was established in 1997 by Dasho Gasey Lhendup. The lodge is just a short distance from the main Chamkhar town and about a five-minute walk from Jakar Dzong. Since its inception, it has won several accolades and is considered one of the most charming establishments in this region.

The lodge features six deluxe and eight standard blue pine panelled rooms, beautifully painted in traditional style and comfortably and tastefully furnished. All rooms are efficiently heated and have high-quality insulation. The bathrooms and toilets are equipped with the latest fittings, including jet showers and bathtubs.

The lodge serves a range of delicious cuisines, ranging from local delicacies to continental dishes. Its bar also has an interesting collection of local and imported drinks.
